Australian Winery introduction

Wine grapes are grown in nearly every state and territory, and there are over 50 wine-growing regions in Australia。The major wine-growing areas are concentrated in the southern half of the continent, mostly within a hundred kilometres of the coast.

Most of Australia’s vines are concentrated in South Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia, although grapes are now planted in the states of Queensland and Tasmania.

Grapevines are grown under enormous variations of terrains, soils and climates. South Australia produces more wine than any other Australian state and becoming the most important winery region in Australia. Set in picturesque rolling hillsides, South Australian vineyards are blessed with cool winters, warm summers and a long ripening season.

The most famous regions in South Australia include the Barossa Valley, the Adelaide Hills, McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek and its south has Coonawarra and Padthaway with its rich, red “Terra Rossa” soil.
